Helix Software and Windows Language settings
The strong growth in the number of International users of Helix software in recent years has brought to light some Database settings which may need to be changed depending on whether the Windows Language complies with the ANSI standard or not.
The Helix software is compiled for ANSI Standard languages such as English (US, Australian, UK, South African etc.) However, some language settings do not comply with this standard - examples are Portuguese, Spanish and French. In order to get the Helix software and the DBISAM databases working correctly, users can do one of two things:
The first and quickest is to change your Windows Regional settings to one of the ANSI languages such as English US, English UK, Australian, South African etc.
Select the Windows Start, Settings, Control Panel, Regional Settings menus to bring up the current settings, nad then Select English(Australia) and test the operation of the Helix program.
Also set the Decimal symbol to a . (point) and the Digit grouping symbol to a , (comma) in both the Numbers and Currency tab sheets.

Another work around requires you to restructure the Database to use the Sort ID's for Portuguese (as an exmple).
This is not hard to do: 1. Open Windows explorer. 2. Go to the C:\Program Files\Helix\delta-T5 Pro subdirectory. (or other Helix program directory) 3. Make backup copies of all the .DAT, .IDX and .BLB files you can find in the delta-T5 directory and the \Data and \Projects directory. 4. Locate the File called Dbsys.exe in the \delta-T5 Pro directory and run it by double clicking on it. This is the DBISAM database Utility program supplied by Helix. 5. Go to the Utilities menu in the Dbsys.exe program and select Restructure... 6. In the select table to Restructure box, select each and every .DAT file (start with the Belts.DAT in the \Data directory) and press the Open button. 7. Once the file is open, Select Portuguese (Brazilin) in the Language drop down box at the top right hand side of the form. 8. Press the Save button. The Database index will be restructured for Portuguese. 9. Repeat this process for all database .DAT files. 10. Ensure that you have a point as decimal and a comma as list separator in the Regional settings. 11. Run the Helix Delta-T 5 program.
The Dbsys.exe program allows you to restructure the Database files so that they will work with your Language settings.
Select your language from the drop down list and Save the Database file.
