HELIX DEM Chute Design Overview

The Helix Chute Design program is an engineering design tool which combines CAD Drawing and 3D Modeling with a powerful calculation engine to predict the motion of particles in a transfer chute. The program allows the user to quickly build a model of a bulk material transfer chute station and then to perform calculations incorporating the Discrete Element Method of predicting particle motion through the chute. The motion of the particles is displayed in a 3 dimensional model on the computer screen and the design engineer can quickly add, modify or move the chute surfaces to allow the material to flow through the transfer efficiently. The program eliminates the need for the design engineer to guess what the material flow trajectories will be in the transfer.

Helix DEM has a very fast calculation process

The Helix DEM program is the fastest DEM design program available. You can start a calculation and view the particles moving through the transfer during the calculation process. This allows you to see where the particles are impacting and where they are moving fast or slow and even stationary. This allows you to stop the calculation, make adjustments to your design right inside the Helix program (without having to open a CAD drawing program) and then to restart the DEM Calculation and see the effects of the changes made.

This flexibility, coupled with the ability to use a large calculation time step size, results in the fastest DEM program available. This saves you time and money and allows the design project to be completed efficiently.
